How did you start digital scrapbooking? Did someone recommend it to you? Did you scrapbook before? How long have you been doing it? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I was a paper scrapper first and found that it took me so long to complete a book and figured there had to be a better way. I believe I was on the Two Peas in a Bucket website when I saw the link for digital scrapbooking and wondered what it was. At first I thought you had to do everything yourself and needed to be a graphic designer but when I saw that there were kits, and even quick pages already done for you I was hooked. I can make the most gorgeous pages in a fraction of the time it took before and can print the pages multiple times allowing me to create albums for my family as well. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I'm a multi-media art hobbiest. One of many interests includes scrapbooking. I've used traditional methods for preserving our photos since I was a young girl and began delving into digi-art shortly after digital graphics software came on the market. I began including digi-art pieces into my other creative projects right away. Then added digi-scrapping to the mix of my artful activities a little over a year ago. Do you find this valuable?

Im a graphic designer and I design ads, collaterals and websites as part of my job since the 90s. I started paper scrapping before the turn of the century. I strongly resisted digital scrapping because I know it would feel like "work" for me - - digital scrapping with the same software I use to do my job will rob me of the joy, or so I thought. I however, had to do a scrap page for a friend real quick one day that I decided to do it "digitally" - for the first time. Know what? it didn't feel like "work" at all. Why? The joy was still there because I was focused on doing a great page for a very good friend. My bias against digital scrapping was all b*ll. I sure wish I had started a bit sooner. It would have spared me a whole lot of anxiety in doing some quick pages for my friends. I could have done it all digitally and paper scrapped when I had more time! :) Goes to show you gotta try it once first before you say never. :) Do you find this valuable?

I started off as a paper scrapper. I wasn't very good at it though. My MIL gave me Halmarks scrapbooking program when I bought my first digital camera. I never did another paper page again. I love digital scrapbooking. I have really enjoyed lurking into the digital scrapbooking community online. I have since outgrown the Halmark program since it cannot utilize all the great kits available online (it doesn't recognize png files). I have loved using FxFoto and, more recently, learning Photoshop Elements. Do you find this valuable?

Posted on behalf of Karroch from Scraps of Mind: For me it was an evolution from editing/salvaging poor photos to use for paper scrapping. Then I found a couple of digi-scrapping sites that offered freebies and I discovered that digi-scrapping gave me a sense of creative freedom that I couldn't find with paper scrapping. I still dabble in paper scrapping and cardmaking but digi-scrapping is really where I'm drawn these days. Karooch from Do you find this valuable?

I started real paper scrapping in 1995 after my daughter was born. In 2001 I did a scrapbook on my deceased father-in-law. Ten color copies of the album later (around 600 pages total) I thought to myself - there must be a better way... I began hybrid scrapping - using Microsoft Publisher to journal on my pattern paper and then put my photos on after I printed it. In 2002 I took a Photoshop class at a community college and went 100% digital. Since then I have been able to do so much more - I have never looked back. It is so easy to cut straight and my kids don't get into my tools - what more could you ask for? lol. My husband is a technical guy so he loves that I scrap on my computer - not to mention the fact that he doesn't have to pay for color copies of paper layouts anymore! ;) Do you find this valuable?

Paper scrapbooking just wasn't for me - glue, scissors and me really don't go well together and then there's the lack of storage. At one of my pixelforums someone showed me one of her DS layouts, so I googled for DS, ended up at the digitalscrapbookplace, saw the beautiful layouts and was hooked!
This was in February 2007, so I'm still a newbie (with lots to learn - LOL). I'm a pixel-graphic artist and creating DS kits was a new challenge, I'm enjoying myself immensely!

Back in 1999 my sister got me into paper scrapping, then I started taking classes at a scrapbook store I found close to where my hubby works; but it wasn't long until I figured out that at the time some of the elements (especially for miliary and out of the country travel) I really wanted were not available so started making my own on the computer and printing them out. Several years later while one the computer I thought I would do a search on scrapbooking when out jumped all kinds of digital scrapbooking sites. I was hooked after that. When I met my partner he was very into Photoshop (mainly cars lol!)
He showed me the basics, and I started making signatures for my parenting forum....I got into scrapping about 4 months ago and haven't looked back lol!
I would love to try hybrid or even full paper scrapping, but our flat is very small (especially with a 2 year old running around!) and we just don't have the space!
Digiscrapping is the best of both worlds! I get to scrap, and it takes up no space (except on my hard drive lol!)
